Youth4Business is presently teaching a 20 lesson plan curriculum in Entrepreneurship in seven schools near Les Cayes Haiti. Class sizes range from 15 to 60 students. School program director Coicy Franky works tirelessly with teachers and students throughout the school year. Each student who completes the program receives a certificate noting their accomplishment. Students who submit business plans at the end of the school year are eligible for a small loan from our microfinance program.
Coicy has initiated a new program that will begin this fall in several of the schools. He has worked with past and present students to develop a business plan for a cafeteria for the students. The students that are currently in the Y4B entrepreneurship course will run the cafeteria as part of their curriculum. Stay tuned for updates!

Youth4Business runs a local microfinance program in Les Cayes through a local church. This program provides young adults access to loans of $50 to $150 US. They are required to pay back their loans within 6 months at a rate of 1% per month interest. The young adults are also required to start a savings account and save a percentage of their income while they hold their loan. Examples of their businesses are sales of cloth , cell phone, and computer virus software. You can read more about their stories on our page Stories from Haiti.  Pictured at right are three of the loan holders.
